The Beautiful Game
In line at the country cow yesterday a Nigerian delivery man came in with a dolly cart full of beverages. He was wearing an Arsenal home jersey and a sweatband that was working overtime. I was at the end of the counter talking with Jose, one of the cooks over there who I am pals with. We were discussing the upcoming Champions league game between Chelsea and Liverpool and, to be honest, I was kind of raising my voice to see if the delivery man felt like making a few comments. And he did. “Adebeyor will turn out to be a better striker then Drogba, just you wait and see.” The Nigerian said. The Mexican laughed and said that if it wasn’t always so cold and miserable in the UK, that Mexican footballers would rule the EPL. I offered that the MLS was the finest of all sporting leagues…. The three of us, a, a Mexican, a Nigerian, and an American stood there in the Country Cow for a few moments and chatted as friends over something we all have in common – football. Thank god for the things that bring us together, especially the beautiful game.

Just for an evening
A night with your best friends will lift the plug from the bottom of your sorrows and allow it to all drain away, even if just for an evening.
